The Scottish West Coast and the islands of the Hebrides are
as spectacular as the wildlife that inhabits them. There is
no better way to visit than from the sea.
Join us for exhilarating Scottish sailing as we explore aboard
our pedigree Oyster yacht
which combines comfort with proven sailing ability.
Discover deep sea lochs, dramatic mountains, puffins, dolphins,
whales or eagles and, at the end of the day, good food and like-minded
company in one of the many secluded anchorages.
Richard
is your skipper and host, He is equally
happy to handle the boat or leave you to sail while he keeps the
mugs of tea and coffee topped up, prepares the meals or uncorks
the wine.
He is a qualified RYA Yachtmaster Instructor
and those who want to learn more will find him a calm and patient
coach.
Experienced sailors will enjoy improving their navigation and
boat handling skills in an area with interesting tides and snug
anchorages.
Beginners will soon find themselves spending time at the wheel,
trimming the sails or launching the dinghy.
Wind, Tide, Weather and the mood of the group dictate that no
two cruises will be the same.
Favourite
memories include;
reefed-down sailing in magnificent winds, barrelling along with
the tide in narrow channels, dry-mouthed moments creeping into
tight anchorages or rather wetter ones landing on rocky shores
in the tender.
And;
a stroll on an empty beach before dinner, local hospitality, laughing at the antics of puffins around their burrows, the excitement of sighting the first dolphins or dining on fish caught that afternoon.
Whatever your age or experience, whether looking for a relaxing
sailing holiday in Scotland cruising between islands, an approved
RYA sailing course, a concentrated week of mile building in
the Outer Hebrides, a weekend taster or more adventurous sailing
to St. Kilda, Orkney,
Fair Isle, Shetland, Faroes
and Norway, you will find something
to suit you.

New Horizon Sailing has also built on partnerships to offer skippered
charter aboard quality yachts with experienced skippers/hosts:
- We continue to offer our popular weekend
sailing breaks in the more sheltered waters of the Firth
of Clyde - ideal for beginners - aboard a smaller, but still high quality, Moody 36.
- RYA training from qualified and experienced instructors is available aboard both yachts but always with an emphasis on a sailing holiday with high standards of both comfort and professionalism.
We now offer sail/climb and sail/ski holidays on the Norwegian west coast on a brand new 43ft Ovni (Jon, the owner/skipper, labels the concept “sailing with mountain boots”). The 44ft Ovni is built in Aluminium and is favoured by high latitude sailors. She also has a lifting keel and can creep into shallow anchorages and beaches.
With Jon you can join a sailing trip on Norway’s west coast or in the Lofoten Islands, north of the Arctic circle or even further north to the ice fields of Svalbad. Even more adventurous guests can sail to out-of-the-way locations and ski or climb with guides in some of the most dramatic landscapes in Europe. In 2011 we will be sailing our Oyster yacht, Stormdancer, to the Lofoten Islands with a 600 mile plus passage each way and several weeks enjoying the scenery and wildlife north of the Arctic Circle. If you would like to join us, details will be posted on the Programme page.
